The Hamburg Climate Portal has been online for three years: www.klima.hamburg.de. The portal provides up to date information from the German authorities regarding projects, successes and occasional difficulties the city of Hamburg  experiences in dealing with climate change. The Climate Portal additionally shares ideas, for example grant support or opportunities to save money while protecting the climate. »
Hamburg’s Climate Protection Program
In 2009, the Hamburg Senate further developed the comprehensive climate protection program. The city aims to reduce its carbon dioxide emissions by 40% in 2020 and 80% by 2050. The climate protection plan for the year 2010 features over 300 projects covering virtually all areas of environmental policy.


Model Projects for the Household
The Hamburg-based Energy Agency (Hamea) is currently developing climate strategy model projects for households. The agency aims to strengthen a network of actors targeting support for climate protection measures in civil society. The energy company founded in 2009, places Hamburg on the path to a sustainable energy future.

Commitment to the Development of Renewable Energies
Climate protection and economic success are interdependent in the renewable energy sector. Hamburg aims to massively expand renewable energies, offering over 600 companies in Hamburg in the industry the opportunity to enhance their competition through close networking and exchange.
