IBA Dock

IBA Hamburg is home to the largest floating office exhibition building in Germany. Additionally, it hosts a multimedia exhibition (IBA WORK), a vivid presentation of the current development of over 40 IBA Hamburg construction projects. This includes varied ecological projects such as the energy bunker in Wilhemsburg, the energy mountain, Georgswerder or the Passive House- Plus „Open House“.

In addition to the exhibition, the IBA DOCK is an experience in and of itself. The floating exhibition and office building conforms to the tides. In a storm flood it has the ability to float with the water- a pioneering building concept for flood protection and climate management. The IBA DOCK harnesses environmentally friendly energy through the production of solar thermal and photovoltaic. Thanks to the heat exchanger in the bottom of the pontoons, the building can regulate the temperature using the warming or cooling of Elbe water. The IBA DOCK is CO2-neutral.
